Brothers beat Police 2-1
Dhaka, November 24: Brothers Union opened their campaign of the Walton Federation Cup with a 2-1 victory over Bangladesh Police at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Sunday.
The win also saw Brothers reach the quarterfinals as Team BJMC and Police earlier drew their match 2-2.
Police took the lead in the 17th minute though their forward Kobirul Islam who reacted quickly to shoot the ball into the middle of the net after the Brothers defence failed to clear a corner properly ( 1-0).
Pranab Kumar Dey, the Brothers Union defender equalized in the 41st minute with low grounder from the top of the box, unmarked Pranab took control of the ball, when the Police defence line cleared a low cross of Brother’s Nigerian forward Elvis Kingsley at the near post (1-1).
Brothers Union took the lead in the 64th minute off a tricky goal of winger Faisal Mahmood. The winger placed the ball into the near post from a goal mouth melee (2-1).
