Dhaka, December 7: Muktijoddha moved into the final of the Walton Federation Cup beating Team BJMC 5-3 in the penalty shootout at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Saturday.
The stipulated time of the second semifinal ended 1-1.
In the 14th minute Muktijoddha’s Nigerian forward Elita Kingsley’s back head on a long throw of Eleta Benjamin hit the side post.
Three minutes later Muktijoddha’s other Nigerian forward Nkowcha Kingley’s tap from a close range was saved by a diving BJMC goalie Ariful Islam.
In the 23rd minute BJMC midfielder Abdullah Parvez’s back heel on square pass of Ismael Bnogoura was gripped by a diving Mukitijoddha goalie Aminul.
In the 61st minute Mukitjoddha forward Nkwocha Kingsley wasted another chance after his compatriot Elita sethim free with a square pass Nkowcha placed the ball wide off the side post.
Muktijoddha took the lead in the 76th minute through a headed goal of Elita Kingsley. The Nigerian forward headed a Jahed Parvez corner from the middle of the box (1-0)
BJMC equalized in the 86th minute off a penalty. Ismael Bangoura was fouled by BJMC substitute goalie Liton and Bangoura converted the spot kick (1-1).
In the penalty shootout Enamul, Md. Biplob, Choumrin Rakhain, Nkwocha Kingsley and Elita Kingsley scored from the spot. Samson Iliayasu, Ismael Bangoura, Jen Jules Ikanga scored for BJMC but Khan Md. Tara missed.
Muktojoddha will meet Sheikh Jamal in the final on Friday .
