Dhaka, December 13: Sheikh Jamal beat Muktijoddha 1-0 in the final of the Walton Federation Cup at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Friday.
In the 5th minute Jamal defender Raihan Hasan cut a long ball that saw Sony Norde but the Haitian blasted the ball over the crosspiece.
In the 16th minute Muktijoddha forward Nkwocha Kingsley send a low cross from the left flank but Jamal goalkeeper Zia dived to his right before Eleta Kingsley reached the line.
Jamal’s Nigerian defender Abdullah’s head on a Sony Norde free-kick narrowly missed the sidepost in the 34th minute.
Muktijoddha pressed hard after the break and in the 56th minute Nkwocha Kingsley’s pushed the ball from the edge of the box, Biplob cut it back for Eleta Kingsley but the shot went straight to goalkeeper Zia.
Jamal defender Nasiruddin made all the difference in the 82nd minute when he rose above to head home a corner of Sony Norde in the near post.
Muktijoddha did not have much time to take the match to the extra time and Jamal celebrated their second Fed Cup title since making their mark in the top flight football.
