Baridhara hold MSC
Dhaka, January 11: Uttar Baridhara held Mohammedan Sporting Club Ltd to a goalless draw in the Bangladesh Premier League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Saturday.
In the 14th minute Abul Kalam Azad Sumon of Uttar Baridhara got the possession of the ball after a misunderstanding of Mohammedan defenders but his dipping shot missed the crosspiece.
Mohammedan winger Zahid Hossain wasted a chance in the 30th minute after a push of Habibur Rahman Shohag reached him at the top of the six yard box, but his shot was too weak.
In the very next minute Abul Kalam Azad Sumon saw his grounder saved for a corner by a diving Mohammedan goalie Mamun Khan.
In the 44th minute Mohammedan forward Wahed Ahmed blasted the ball over the crosspiece from the middle of the box.
Uttar Baridhara’s Nigerian midfielder Kosoko fed by compatriot midfielder Quadri Larne unleashed a fierce volley in the 56th minute but Mohammedan goalie Mamun Khan punched it for a corner.
In the stoppage time Zahid Hasan Emily’s long range shot was cleared from the goal line by Baridhara defender Saeedur Rahman.
Mohammedan has two points from two matches while Uttar Baridhara earned their first point from same number of matches.
