Dhaka, January 28:
Dhaka Abahani Limited continued their winning spree beating Uttar Baridhara
Club 2-0 in the Bangladesh
Premier League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Tuesday.
Abahani took the lead
through their midfielder Shahedul Alam
Shahed in the 12th minute of the match. Shahed scored with a
left footed angular shot on a cut back of Ghanaian forward Osei Morrison from
the right.
Another Ghanaian
forward Awudu Ibrahim doubled the lead in the 48th minute of the
match. Taking control a clearance of an opponent
defender, the unmarked Ibrahim moved ahead and took a low grounder into the
net. (1-0)
Baridhara were very
close to reduce the margin but Abahani defender Md. Sujon saved his team as the
defender cleared a ball from goal line the shot was taken by Baridhara’s
Nigerian forward Akindele from the box.
With this win, Abahani
went up the top of the points table with 16 points from six matches while Uttar
Baridhra remained their previous collection of 5 points from the same number of
matches.
