Muktis held by Brothers
Dhaka, January 31: Muktijoddha Sanghsad KC were
held to a 1-1 draw by Brothers Union Limited in the Bangladesh Premier League at the
Bangabandhu National Stadium on Friday.
Muktijoddha took the lead through their Nigerian
forward Eleta Kingsley in the injury time of the first half. Receiving a pass
from Enamul Haque, Eleta Kingsley entered the d box and placed the ball into
the net. (1-0)
In the 56th minute Brothers were very close to
equalize but Nigerian forward Victori Antoni headed in a Faisal Mahmud cross
that went over crosspiece.
Muktis forward Enamul Haque was sent off in the
60th minute after receiving his second yellow cards.
Muktis goalie Rasel Mahmud Liton made a decent
save in the 69th minute to deny Brothers forward Jewel Rana’s close-range
effort for a corner.
Brothers Union
restored the parity in the 74th minute. Ghanaian Issah Yousuf headed pass the
ball to Nigerian forward Kester Akon who again headed home from the edge of
six-yard box.
With this draw Muktis went up to 11 points from
seven matches while Brothers earned 8 points from the same number of matches.
