Dhaka, February 5: Muktijoddha stumbled into a 1-1 draw against Feni
Soccer in the Nitol-Tata Bangladesh Premier League at the Bangabandhu National
Stadium on Wednesday.
Muktijoddha came close to a strike in the 8th
minute but Jahed Parvez’s volley from the middle of the box went past the side
post.
However Muktijoddha took the lead in the 32nd
minute through their Nigerian forward Agbulu Inalegwu. It was an opportunistic strike
as Agbulu’s compatriot Nkwocha Kingsley’s volley was punched by Feni Soccer
goalie Md. Nehal but nearby standing Agbulu headed the ball home (1-0).
Feni Soccer restored the parity in the 37th
minute when forward Akbar Hossain Ridon headed an Ali Hasan corner in the near
post net (1-1).
Muktijoddha compiled considerable pressure
in the second half but Nkwocha Kingsley wasted two easy chances in the 22nd and
28th minutes.
In the 81st minute Nkwocha Kingley went
past the Feni Soccer defecne but Nehal dived into his feet as Nkwocha lost
control however Muktijoddha midfielder Iqbal Hossain Bhuiyan blasted the ball
over the open net.
Muktijoddha has 12 points from eight matches
while Feni Soccer has 4 points from the same number of matches.
