February 22: Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Ltd was held to a 2-2 draw in the
Bangladesh Premier League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Saturday.
Team BJMC
went ahead in the very 2nd minute when their Nigerian
midfielder Samsom Iliayasu saw his weak shot from the top of the box slip
between the hands of unready Jamal’s goalie Himel (1-0).
However Jamal equalized in the 10th minute by own goal of BJMC’s
Saiful as Haitian forward Wedson header went home before touching Saiful a
Mamunul Islam free kick in the near post (1-1).
Jamal took the lead in the 36th minute through their Nigerian
forward Emeka Darlington when he placed a back-heel of Wedson in the near post
from the top of the six yard box (2-1).
Team BJMC
restored the parity in the 43rd minute when Guinean striker
Ismael Bangoura went past two Jamal defenders and cut a square pass to Nigerian
midfielder Uche Felix who tapped it home (2-2).
Jamal have 14 points from six matches while BJMC have 12 points from nine
matches.
