DHAKA, April 21: Chittagong MSC defeated Beanibazar SC by a solitary goal at the Sylhet stadium in the Citycell Bangladesh League today. Linkon scored the lone goal for Mohammedan in the 39 minute. After this victory, the Chittagong outfit moved to sixth place in the table with 18 points while a struggling Beanibazar remained second from bottom with 13 points. The first leg match between the two teams ended in 1-1 draw.
Also today Soccer Club of Feni blanked Sukhtara JS 2-0 at the Narayanganj Stadium. Soccer Club’s Sohel Rana scored the opener in the 41st minute and Asif Yusuf scored the final one for the visitors in the 49th minute.
With this victory, Soccer Club climbed to fourth position iwith 21 points, overtaking Rahmatganj while Sukhtara’s tension to avoid relegation worsened as they stuck to the bottom of the table with 7 points.
In the day’s other match, Brothers Union and Farashganj shared points in a 2-2 draw at the Bangabandhu National Stadium. Farashganj striker Touhidul Alam shot the old-Dhaka side ahead in the 9th minute but Moksudul Alam equalised five minutes later.
Farashganj, however, went into the break 2-1 up as their Nigerian striker Kalu Johnson scored on the brink of halftime but the lead did not last as another African, Enock Bentil of Ghana, slammed the equaliser for Brothers five minutes from time.< Prev | Next > |
