Muktis thrash BJMC 4-2
Dhaka, April 24: Muktijoddha beat Team BJMC by 4-2 goals in the second phase of the Nitol-Tata Bangladesh Premier League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Thursday.
Muktijoddha took the lead in the 23rd minute with Nigerian Nkowcha Kingsley tapping home the rebound of Sunday Chizoba free kick that rebounded off the body of BJMC goalie Ariful Islam( 1-0)
Eleta Kingley doubled the lead in the 42nd minute with a solo effort. Making his way through the left flank the Nigerian blasted a left footer into the far post net (2-0)
In the 51st minute Nkwocha scored his second one. Taking an angular pass of Sunday Chizoba at the edge of the box the tall Nigerian placed the ball into the far post net (3-0)
Team BJMC’s Nigerian forward Samson Ililaysu reduced the margin in the 58th minute with an angular shot after Mehedi Hasan Topu fed him with a square pass (3-1)
However Sunday Chizoba restored the three goal lead in the 61st minute with a neat chip over BJMC goalie Ariful Islam (4-1)
In the 78th minute Team BJMC’s Guinean forward Ismael Bangoura converted a penalty after Muktijoddha defender Shayamal Ahmed Rony handed the ball in the d-box (4-2)
Muktijoddha took their tally to 18 points from 11 matches while Team BJMC remained on their previous collection of 12 points from the same number of matches.
