Brothers beat Ctg Abahani
Dhaka, May 3: Brothers Union beat Chittagong Abahani 2-1 in the second phase in the Nitol Tata Bangladesh Premier League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Saturday.
Chittagong Abahani drew the first blood in the 13 minute through a combined move. Guinean forward Osmane Cherrif made his way through the left flank and cut a neat cross for midfielder Ismael Jahed who headed the ball into the near post (1-0)
However an own goal of Chittagong Abahani saw Brothers Union restore the parity in the 15th minute. Nigerian midfielder Simon Ezeodka shot towards the Abahani net and the ball deflecting off the foot of defender Nazrul Islam landed into the far post net (1-1)
Brothers Union’s Haitian forward Augustine Walson sealed the fate of the match in the 86th minute with a sidefooted placing shot from a close range (2-1).
Brothers Union took their tally to 19 points from 13 matches while Chittagong Abahani remained on their previous collection of seven points from the same number of matches.
