Abahani beat BJMC
Dhaka, May 08: Dhaka Abahani
Limited beat BJMC by 2-1 goals in the 2nd phase of Nitol Tata Bangladesh
Premier Football League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Thursday.
In the first phase
Abahani also won over BJMC 1-0.
Abahani had chance to
take the lead in the 25th minute but their Portuguese forward Soares
left footed placing shot went wide.
Forward Ali Akbar
Kanon squandered an opportunity for Team BJMC in the 33rd minute
when his shot missed post on a low cross of Guineas forward from the right.
Abahni broke the
deadlock in the 55th from a spot kick. Team BJMC goalie Arifuzzaman
Hemel tackled down Abahni’s Ghanaian forward Osei Morrison in the box and
refereeBharat Chandra Goura whistled for penalty. Portuguese for Soares
converted the spot kick. (1-0)
Forward Shahedul Alam
Shahed doubled the lead for Abahni in the 65th minute. Soares sent a
pass to Shahed whose angular placing shot hit the side post crossed the
goalline. (2-0)
Guineas forward Ismael Bangoura reduced the margin
with a header in stoppage time of the match on free kick of Samson Illiasu.
With the win Abahni
took their tally to 28 points from 14 matches while Team BJMC remained their
previous earning of 15 points from the same number of matches.
