Brothers thrash Baridhara
Dhaka, May 11: Kester Akon’s hat-trick helped
Brothers Union Limited to salvage a 5-1 win over Uttar Baridhara Club in the 2nd
phase of Nitol Tata Bangladesh
Premier Football League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Sunday.
In the first leg Brothers lost to Baridhara by 3-2 goals.
Nigerian forward Kester Akon put ahead Brothers
with a side volly in the 5th minute of the match. Midfielder Faisal
Mahmud curved a corner and Rubel Mia’s shot deflected and reached Kester whose
side volley landed into the near post. (1-0)
10: After capitalizing a ball from midfielder
Faisal Mahmood, Haitian forward Augustine Walson moved forward and entered into
the box and took a cracking shot that beat Uttar Baridhara goalie Osman Goni but
hit the crosspiece.
:Kester Akon, the Nigerian forward doubled the
lead with a placing shot from the box in the 27th minute. (2-0)
Baridhara Forward Sujon Biswas reduced the
margin two minutes later with a fierce left footed volley. Kenyan forward
Collins Tiago’s header from box fell to Sujon who utilised the oppurtunity.

Haitian forward Augustine Walson added the
third for Brothers in the 40th minute with a solo effort. Walson,
who taking ball from Kester entered into the box dodging past two defenders and
beat the GK with an angular shot. (3-1)
Walson scored his second and fourth for
Brothers in the 45th minute. After making his way through the defence Walson hit the back of the far
post with a placing shot that was hit with the outside part of his foot. (4-1)
Kester completed his hat-trick in the 51st
minute when he headed home on a corner of midfielder Faisal Mahmud from the
right. (5-1)
After this win Brothers took their tally to 22
points from 14 matches while Uttar Baridhara remained their previous earning of
10 points from the same number of matches.
