Dhaka, Apr 29: Brothers Union beat Beanibazar 4 - 0 in their home match of the Bangladesh League 2009 at the Bangabandhu National stadium today. Murad Ahmed Milon gave the orange side a 37 minute lead and their Ghanaian striker Enock Bentil increased the margin in the extra time of the first half. He struck again in the 67th minute, ten minutes before Bulbul scored the final goal for the Gopibagh side.
Brothers Union’s Taru got the ball in the penalty area and driven it powerfully on the post but the goal keeper saved it confidently while Murad Ahmed Milon got the rebound and netted it with a nice touch to score the opener for his side.
In the first half’s stoppage time, Enock the day’s hero, entered in the visiting team’s penalty area, dodging two defenders and safely sent the ball to the far post with a powerful shot.
Enock attempted again in the 67th minute from just outside the box, the ball entered into the post stunning the goalkeeper. This is Enock’s ninth goal in this tournament.
Bulbul sealed the match in the 77th minute by scoring with a header from a volley pass by Enock. This win lifted Brothers Union to the fourth position in the league table with 21 points.
Away at the M.A. Aziz stadium, hosts Chittagong Mohammedan played out a 2 - 2 draw with Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra. With their 8th draw in 19 matches, Chittagong Mohammedan now have 20 points, 24 less than Sheikh Russel, playing same number of matches.
Sheikh Russel was 2 – 0 ahead as their Moroccan recruit Samir Omari and Jamal Nakhle scored in the 41st and the 54th minute but they failed to hold the lead at the end of the match while Lamine Soumah and Linkon equalized with two consecutive goals for the port city outfit in the 80th and the 83rd minute.< Prev | Next > |
