Brothers Muktis share points
Dhaka, May 18: Brothers Union and Muktijoddha played out a 1-1 tie in the second phase of the Nitol-Tata Bangladesh Premier League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Sunday.
Augustine Walson put Brothers ahead in the 6th minute after Kester Akon set him free with a through from the midfield and Walson hit the back of the net with an angular shot (1-0)
Brothers hit back with a number of attacks and in the 16th minute Nkwocha Kingsley failed to head the ball into an open net on a cross of Md. Biplob.
However Sunday Chizoba restored the parity in the 30th minute after Brothers defender Yusuf Issah brought Sunday down in the left flank of the box and Sunday converted the penalty (1-1)
In the 36th minute Sunday again made his way through the Brothers defence and fierce drive was punched for a corner by Sobuj Das Roghu, the Brothers goalie.
After the resumption both the teams took a defensive approach concentrating upon not conceding more and most of the time the ball was struck in the midfield.
Muktijoddha was reduced to ten men in the 81st minute when Cameroonian defender Gerard Ledoux was shown the second yellow card for a his hard tackle on Augustine Walson.
Brothers Union have 26 points from 16 matches while Muktijoddha have 22 from 15 matches.
