Baridhara hold Soccer
Dhaka, May 19: Soccer
Club Feni were held to a 1-1 draw by Uttar Baridhara Club in the 2nd
phase match of Nitol Tata Bangladesh
Premier Football League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Monday.
The Feni outfit also drew
with Baridhara 1-1 in the first phase.
Soccer Club charged on
Baridhara from the beginning and had a chance to take the lead in the 2nd
minute but Nigerian forward Chuka Charles’s header went over the crosspiece on
a free kick of Gambian forward Landing Darboe from the right.
Forward Akbar Hossain
Ridon put Soccer Club ahead in the 6th minute of the match. Gambian
forward Kabba Jobe sent a square pass from the right to unmark Ridon who placed
the ball into the net without any mistake. (1-0)
Baridhara were near to
restore the parity in the 13th minute but defender Khalekur Jamen
shot hit the side post from the left.
Soccer club were close
to score in the 42nd minute but Gambian forward Landing Darboe shot
hit the side post the ball fed by Ridon.
Chuka Chales
squandered another chance for Soccer in the 47th minute when his
shot went over the crosspiece having one-on-one situation with Baridhara goalie
Osman Goni.
However, Baridhara
leveled the score through their Kenyan forward Collins Tiego in the 76th
minute. Forward Sunjon Biswas took a shot from the box but Baridhara’s defender
saved it. Collins fired a grounder into the net on a rebounder. (1-1)
With this draw Soccer
Club earned 10 points from 15 matches while Uttar Baridhara collected 11 points
from the 16 matches.
