BD faces Uzbekistan on Thursday
Dhaka, September 17: Bangladesh U-23 football team faces Uzbekistan U-23 in a crucial group B match in the Asian Games football at Incheon, Korea on Thursday.
Bangladesh geared up by the 1-0 victory over Afghanistan in the opening match looks forward to put a good show against the strong opponents. Head coach Lodewijk de Kruif conducted a full fledged practice session on Wednesday with winger Jahid Hossain taking part in the session. Midfielder Omar Faruk Babu is still to recover from his injury.
Against Uzbekistan Bangladesh will go defensive and take the counter attacking strategy. Coach de Kruif is expected to make a couple of changes in the starting eleven.
Bangladesh lost 3-0 against Uzbekistan in the 2010 edition of Asian Games at Guangzhou and in 2012 Bangladesh U-22 lost 2-1 against Uzbekistan in AFC U-22 at Kathmandu, Nepal.
