BD want to win both int’l friendlies: Titu
Dhaka, October 21: Bangladesh want to win the both International
friendlies to be held on October 24 and 27 against Sri Lanka using their home
advantage. Bangladesh team coach Saiful
Bari Titu disclosed this desire in a press conference was held at BFF House on
Tuesday.
“Our main objective is to keep the national team in shape, keep a
healthy environment, make the understanding between the players better and also
to judge where we stand.
Sri Lanka are a close opponent to us. We can point out our weakness
through these matches and make ourselves better as team.
The preparation time may not be enough, but we have to deal with it.
We have to utilize the home advantage and want to win both matches.” Said Titu.
Bangladesh team captain Mamunul Islam Mamun felt confident about the
win against Sri Lank. “The training was good and the team is ready to take on
the field. We will get the support from the crowd of Rajshahi and Jessore. We
will perform our best and play for win.
We are much stronger than before. Those who came from outside the U-23
team are good as well.” Said the midfielder.
Sri Lankan head coach Kavazovic thought Bangladesh is favourite. “This
is my first opportunity against a South Asian nation since I came as head
coach.
We already played two friendlies against Seychelles. First match we
won 2-1 and made some experiments in the second game and changed nine players
as we lost 3-0.
We have one specific way of work. Five days a week we are together.
After that they go to clubs. Training sessions were only tactical. We know
everything about every single player.
Bangladesh is favourite for only single reason is because they are
playing at home. I expect full stadium because I want my players to have that
experience. But I believe we can win both matches.” Said the Serbian coach.
The first match will be played at Shamsul Huda Stadium in Jessore on
24th October and the second match at the Muktijuddho Sriti Stadium
in Rajshahi on 27th October.
