Jamal in final
Dhaka, March 01: Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club moved into the final beating Sheikh Russel KC 2-1 in the first semifinal of the Federation Cup at the
Bangabandhu National Stadium on Sunday.
In the 21st minute Jamal skipper Mamunul Islam curved a corner from
the right hand flag and their Nigerian forward Emeka Darlington headed the ball
just outside the sidepost.
Jamal's Haitian forward Leonel Preux sent a neat cross in the 30th
minute to his compatriot Wedson Anselme but Wedson headed the ball over the crosspiece.
Russell' started counterattacking and went ahead in the 40th minute.
Nigerian forward Kingsley Chigozie was brought down by Jamal defender Yeamin
Munna and Zahid Hasan Emily converted it (1-0).
In the last minute of the first half Kingsley Chigozie hit the Jamal
sidepost with a low grounder.
Defender Nasiruddin Chowdhury brought Jamal back into the match in the
62nd minute. Jamal’s Haitian forward Wedson Anselme sent a ball to unmark
Nasir who scored with an angular shot from the box made no mistake. (1-1)
Jamal took lead in the 89th minute through their Nigerian
forward Emeka Darlington. Haitian forward Wedson curved a cross from the left side to the middle of the box where Darlington headed the ball into the far post cleverly.
