Jamal beat Farashganj 4-1
Dhaka, April 7: Defending champions Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi started the Manyavar Bangladesh Premier League beating Farashganj 4-1 in the opening match at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Tuesday.
Farashganj took the lead against the run of the play in the 10th minute when Nigerian forward Peter Akinyele was brought down by Jamakl defender Keshto Kumar inside the box and referee awarded a penalty, Peter converted it (1-0)
Haitian forward Wedson Anselme equalized for Jamal in the 15th minute, the tall forward placed a cross of Yamin Maunna past Farashganj goalie Sujan Chowdhury (1-1)
Two minutes after the break Jamal took the lead courtesy of a free kick of Gambian attacking midfielder Landin Darobe, Darboe curved the ball in from the edge of the box (2-1)
Midfielder Mamunul Islam sealed the fate of the match in the 75th minute with a cracking left footer form 25 yards, Wedson paved the way for Mamun who completed the job superbly (3-1)
In the injury time Landing Darboe added the fourth goal with a solo effort. (4-1)
