Brothers beat Ctg Abahani
Dhaka, May 21: Brothers Union completed their Manyavar Bangladesh Premier League first phase with a 2-0 win over Chittagong Abahani at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Thursday.
Haitian forward Augustine Walson scored both the goals in the late minutes of the match and both of them were scored from free kicks.
In the 33rd minute Augustne’s back heel was saved from the goalline by Chittagong Abahani defender Kaushik Barua. In the 65th minute Walson hit the sidepost with a long ranger.
However, he broke the deadlock in the 69th minute when he curved a free kick from the left flank. (1-0)
In the 83rd minute Walson scored his second from another free kick from almost the same spot. His curling free kick stunned Abahani goalie Shohag Hossain in the near post. (2-0)
Brothers have 20 points from 10 matches while Abahani have five from the same number of matches.
