Dhaka, June 1: Bangladesh takes on SAFF Champions Afghanistan in a Fifa Friendly International at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Tuesday. The match will kick off at 4:00 pm and Channel 9 will transmit the match live. Peoples Radio will also bring live commentary of the match.
Bangladesh coach Lodewijk de Kruif termed Afghanistan a strong opponent. “They have German, Holland and Finland based players, they have good basics and they are tactically and technically good, we have to put our best, they are strong opponent and I am very happy to play against a tough opponent ahead of our real challenges against Tajikistan and Kyrgystan” said de Kruif.
The Bosnian born German coach of Afghanistan Slaven Skeledzic was serious. “We are about to start a a new era with new generation footballers, I coached many of them in Germany as the youth level coach, there are no dearth of talents in Afghanistan and we are preparing ourselves for the World Cup qualifiers, Bangladesh is a formidable opponent and we are ready for the tough times they will provide in their own yard” said Slaven.
