Russel beat Brothers
Dhaka, July 03, 2015: Sheikh Russel Krira Chakkra beat Brothers Union
Limited 3-1 in the 2nd leg of Manyavar Bangladesh Premier League at
the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Friday.
Midfielder Hemonto Vincent Biswas put Russel ahead in the 27th
minute. Cameroonian forward Paul Emile
sent a cut back to unmarked Hemonta who placed the ball into the near post.

Haitian forward Augustin Walson squandered a chance in the 28th
minute when his shot flew over the cross post having one on one situation with
Russel goalie Rasel Mahud Liton.
Russel could have doubled the lead in the 44th minute but
Hemonto’s placing shot was saved by Brothers goalie Biplob Bhattacharjee who dived to his right.
Brothers had a chance to equalize but midfielder Imtiaz Sultan Jitu
shot straight to the goalkeeper In the 47th minute.
Russel doubled the scoreline through their Cameroonian midfielder Jean
J Ikanga in the 56th minute. Hemonto curved a corner from the left
flag to middle in the box where Ikanga headed the ball into the far post. (2-0)
Brothers came back into the match in the 63rd minute when
Kester Akon scored a goal. Forward Walson took a shot from the edge of the box
but the ball hit the post. The Nigerian forward Kester Akon’s side volley on
rebounder beat Russel goalie Rasel Mahmud Liton ( 2-1)
In the 71st minute, Walson’s free kick from the top of the box
hit the side post.
Ikanga scored his second goal and third for Brothers in the 89th
minute with a header on a corner of captain Mithun Chowdhury. (3-1)
With this Russel took their tally to 23 points playing 11 matches
while Brothers remained with their previous earning 21 points playing 12
matches.
