MSC edge past Feni Soccer
Dhaka, July 26: Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club beat Feni Soccer 2-1 in the Manyavar Bangladesh Premier League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Sunday.
Mohammedan took the lead in the 10th minute when their Guinean forward Ismael Bangoura unleashed a fierce grounder from the top of the box but Feni Soccer goalie Ahsan Habib Bipu pulled out a diving save, however the rebounder fell into the feel of unmarked Cameroonian forward Belinga Amabara who hit the back of the net with an angular shot (1-0)
Dawda Cessay, the Gambian forward of Feni Soccer came dangerously close to a equalizer in the 21st minute but his looping shot just landed at the roof of the net.
Substitute forward Sohel Mia equalized in the 50th minute when a corner of Jatta Mustafa landed at the middle of the box and Sohel Miah cooly chipped the ball over Mohammedan goalie Ashraful ÂÂ Haque Rana at the far post net (1-1)
Mohammedan inserted attackers Towhidula Alam Sobuj, winger Mobarak Hossain for the another strike and their path was eased in the 82nd minute when defender Shahran Halder was shown the direct red card for a foul on Mobarak. Two minutes later Ismael Bangoura headed a cross of Jewel Rana into the net (2-1)
Mohammedan has 34 points from 17 matches while Feni Soccer remained on their previous collection of 15 points from 16 matches.
