Jamal outplay Muktis
Dhaka, August 6: Reigning champions Sheikh Jamal beat Muktijoddha 2-1 in the Manyvar Bangladesh Premier League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Thursday.
Muktijoddha took the lead in the 35th minute when Enamul danced down the right flank and back heeld the ball to winger Faisla Mahmud, Faisal watching Senegalese forward Camara Sarba unmarked he passed square to Camara who poked the ball into the net (1-0).
Jamal came close to a equalizer in the 55th minute but Landing Darboe, the Gambian midfielder’s free kick was punched to safety by Muktis goalkeeper Pearuzzaman Piru.
However in the 61st minute Emeka Darlington, the Nigerian forward equalized when he deflected a volley of Mamunul Islam past Piru in the far post (1-1)
Jamal sealed the victory in the 89th minute as Toklis Ahmed cut a cross into the middle of box and Landing Darboe placed the ball into the far post (2-1)
Jamal has 48 points from 19 matches while Muktijoddha has 25 from 19 matches.
