Dhaka, September 16 : Saudi Arab beat Bangladesh 5-1 in the opening match of group D in the AFC U-16 Qualifiers at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Wednesday.
Bangladesh salvaged some early shocks in the 6th and 26th minutes when midfielder Alduwayhi Abdul Aziz Sulaiman ran down the right flank and cut the ball back to forward Albrikan Feras Tarik, on both occasions Albrikan shot wide from the middle of the box.
But it was Bangladesh who took the lead on the very first attack. In the 29th minute, Midfielder Mostajeb Khan curved a cross to onrusghing forward Sarwar Zaman Nipu in the middle of the box , Nipu placed the ball coolly into the middle of net with the outside part of his right foot (1-0)
However Saudi Arab restored the parity in the 39th minute when skipper Almas Naif Musa placed the ball into the net following a corner of Dhari Alanazi(1-1)
Bangladesh were reduced to ten men in the 49th minute when goalkeeper FoysalÂÂÂ Ahmed fouled Albrikan Feras Tarik out of the box and the referee Ali Sabah al Qaysi sent him away with a direct red card.
Saudi Arab took the lead in the minute as skipper Almas cut a low cross from the right flank and Albrikan Tariq flicked the ball past substitute goalkeeper Md. Nur Alom (2-1).
In the middle stage of the second half Saudi Arab were deprived off the woodwork twice as Dhari Alanazi and Abrikan Tarek’s effort rebounded from the sidepost.
Midfielder Mali scored the third from a penalty in the 81st minute (3-1)
Midfielder Alduwayhi Abdul Aziz Sulaiman put Saudi Arab on a four goal cushion in the 83rd minute from the top of the box (4-1)
 In the 89th minute of the match Alabdan Hamad Abdan netted the fifth to complete a facile victory (5-1). Â
