Uzbek top group A
Dhaka, October 6, 2015: Uzbekistan beat Bangladesh 4-0 to top the group A of the AFC U-19 Championship qualifiers at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Tuesday.
Uzbekistan’s intentions were clear in the very first minute when Ganjonov Begzod broke free in the midfield and unleashed a cracking right footer from the top of the box, however the ball rocked the crosspiece.
But in the very second minute of the match Uzbekistan went up through Doston Ibragimov. The tall forward fired home from a goal mouth melee (1-0)
Uzbekistan earned 9 points with three wins to get a ticket of Bahrain next year and Bangladesh finished as runners-up with 4 points.
In the injury time of the first half Bangladesh skipper Mashuk Mia Johnny was ruing his luck as he missed the flight of a corner curved by Md. Ibrahim from left hand flag at the top of the six yard box.
In the 60th minute of the match Bangladesh winger Md. Ibrahim danced down the left flank and cut a low cross that was cleared by the Uzbek defence.
However, Kodikulov Sanjar doubled the lead in the 62nd minute with a flick on a square pass of Doston Ibrgaimov who did the hard work in the right flank (2-0)
Substitute forward Abdixolkov Bobir scored third goal for Uzbek in the 80th minute. Midfielder Kodirkulov Sanja sent a through pass to Bobir who placed the ball into the net beating opponent goalie Anisur Rahman. (3-0)
Sukhpob Nurulloev sealed victory in the injury time with a header on a cross of Kodirkulov Sanjar from the left flank. (4-0)
