Bahrain held by BD Olympic
Dhaka, Jan 10, 2016: Bangladesh Olympic Team halt Bahrain 1-1 in the 4th Bangabandhu Gold Cup International Football Tournament Group B match at the Shams-Ul-Huda Stadium in Jessore on Sunday.
Yousuf Sifat put Bangladesh ahead in the 19th minute. Midfielder Rubel Mia cutback to winger Yousuf Sifat who dribbled past the opponent defenders and sent the ball into the net.(1-0)
Bahrain restored the parity in the 23rd minute when their forward Jasim Alshaikh scored a goal from the mistake of Olympic team’s defenders. (1-1)
Bahrain were reduced to 10 men in the 89th minute when referee sent off Anwar Ali showing red card.
Bangladesh Olympic team will face the Maldives at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka on Wednesday next while Bahrain will play against Cambodia on the same day and venue.
