Dhaka, January 14, 2016: Bahrain kept their last four hope alive from Group B beating Cambodia in the Bangabandhu Gold Cup at the Bangabndhu National Stadium on Thursday.
With two consecutive defeats Cambodia crashed out from the tournaments as they lost to Maldives 3-2 in their first match.
Bahrain drew with BD Olympic team in their first match.
Cambodia came close to score in the 4th minute but goalkeeper Mahbood Aldoseri saved Bahrain diving to the right to save a shot of forward Dina Tit on a cut back of midfielder Polrooth.
Captain Abdulaziz Alshaikh put Bahraain ahead in the 11th minute. Midfielder Jasim Alshaikh cut a corner from the right flag into the middle of the box where forward Abdulaziz headed into the near post. (1-0)
In the 40th minute midfielder Mohamed Alnnar pushed a through ball to forward Jasim Alshaik whose right foooter was parried away by Cambodian goalie Seri Rath Um.
Abdulaziz ran past the Cambodian defenders and delivered a cut back to unmark Ebrahim Almalood a timely interception by defender Pheng Hong saved Cambodia from another goal in the 51st minute.
After this win Bahrain earned 4 points from two matches while Cambodia remained point less playing also two matches.
