MSC held by Rahmatganj
Dhaka, June 10:Mohammedan Sporting club started their Walton Federation Cup campaign with a 2-2 draw against Rahmatganj at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Friday.
Rahmatganj’s Congolese forward Siyo Zunapiyo rocked the black and white outfit in the very fourth minute of the match when he placed a Syed Rashed Turjo through pass past Mohammedan goalie Md. Nehal (1-0).
Mohammedan had to wait till the 63rd minute when Guinean forward Ismael Bangoura restored the parity. Midfielder Mashuk Mia Johnny’s grounder slipped away from the gloves of Rahmatganj goalie Al Amin and Bangoura tapped it home (1-1).
Mohammedan went up ahead in the 68th minute when Senegalese defender Ya Ya Sy’’s free kick taken from 35 yards was not properly taken by Al Amin and Shahadat Hossian Shahed, getting the ball off back heel of Bangoura, placed it into the middle of the net (2-1)
However, Mohammedans joy was short lived as Siyo Zunapiyo added his second in the 78th minute with a superb curving left footer from the edge of the box (2-2)
