BJMC throw MSC out
Dhaka, 14 June 2016: Team BJMC moved into the quarter finals as Group
D Champion in the Walton Federation Cup at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on
Tuesday.
Rahmatganj MFS also moved into the quarter finals as a Runners up from this group with 2 points.
Goalkeeper Arifuzzaman Himel saved BJMC with diving fist from a cracking shot
of Mohammedan Senegalese defender Yayasy in the 22nd minute.
Mehedi Hasan Tapu put BJMC ahead in the 33rd minute of the
match. Defender Khan Md. Tara’s free kick flew into the middle of the box and
Tapu placed the ball into the net with an aerial placing shot. (1-0)
In the last minute of first half Aminul Rahman Sajib hit the side post
on square pass of Ismail Bangoura.
Mohammedan equalized the score in the 67th minute through
their defender Ahsanul Hoq Milon who took a dipping shot from 40 yards out that
crashed into the far post net of BJMC goalie Himel who was standing far ahead
of the post. (1-1)
Mehedi Hasan Tapu doubled the score in the 83rd minute of
the match. Spot kick specialist Abdullah Parvez curved corner from the left
flag and Tapu headed the ball into the far of the net. (2-1)
With this win, Team BJMC earned 4 points from 2 matches while MSC was eliminated
from the tournament with 1 point.
