Brothers leave Jamal floored
Dhaka, 15 June 2016: Brothers union Limited sank Sheikh Jamal
Dhanmondi Club 2-1 in the Group C match of Walton Federation Cup at the
Bangabandhu National Stadium on Wednesday.
With this win Brother moved into quarter finals as group champion with
6 points while Jamal also moved into the quarters as a runners-up with 3
points.
The first notable attack was created by Brothers Union in the 57th
minute when Kawsar Ali Rabbi’s left footer of a back hill of Augustin Welson
flew over the crosspiece.
However, Sheikh Jamal took the lead in the 71st minute of the match
when defender Yaasin Khan swung a 30 yard right footer into the left hand post
of Brothers goalie Uttam Barua (1-0)
Haitian forward Augustin Walson restored the parity in the 82nd
minute from a free kick from 25 yards. (1-1)
Walson sealed the victory in the 83rd minute. Bappy Hasan
Murad cut a low cross from right flank and goalkeeper Mustak fisted the ball
forward with a dive and the ball fell into the feet of Walson who placed the
ball into the middle of the net. (2-1)
