Arambagh in Final
Dhaka, 23 June 2016: Arambgh Krira Sangha moved into the final of
Walton Federation Cup beating Team BJMC 3-1 in the first semifinal at the
Bangabandhu National Stadium on Thursday.
In the very second minute of the match Arambagh midfielder Md. Abdullah
curved a free kick and their Nigerian forward Kester big hit marker to the ball
but BJMC goalie Arifuzzaman Himel pulling out a fine save.
BJMC forward Eleta Kingsley was in the centre of action in the 19th
minute when headed a cross of Saikat Mahmu but the ball flew past the sidepost.
In the 38th Team BJMC took the lead off a goal of Jakir
Hossain Ziku. Eleta Kingsley fired a free kick that was received by Ziku who
turned almost 90% and placed the ball into the net with a left footer. (1-0)
Arambagh restored the parity in the 64th minute through
their forward Kester Ekon. Midfielder Aung Thowai Chin Marma was brought down in
the box by BJMC midfielder Sankar Das and referee whistled for penalty. Kester
converted the spot kick. (1-1)
Nigerian forward Kester Akon put Arambagh ahead in the 69th
minute. Taking a ball from 25 yards, Kaster dribbled past two opponent
defenders and sent the ball into the net over the on rushing goalie Arifuzzaman
Himel from the top of the box (2-1)
Team BJMC were unfortunate when their Nigerian defender Samuel Adams
failed to score goal from a penalty in the 75th minute. Arambagh
defender Abdul Hamid SK Vashane fouled Eleta Kingsley in the box.
Arambagh Forward Jafar Iqbal extended the lead 3-1 in the injury time with
a solo effort. (3-1)
