Jamal held by Arambagh
Dhaka: Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club was held to
a 1-1 draw by Arambagh Krira Sangha in the opening match of JB Bangladesh
Premier League at the MA Aziz Stadium on Sunday.
Nigerian striker Emeka Darlington put Sheikh
Jamal ahead in the 16th minute. Midfielder Rakib Sarkar fed him with the ball
inside the box amd Emeka took a powerful strike from the left side that hit the
fingers of Arambagh keeper Mitul Hasan before landiung inside the net. (1-0)
In the 41st minute Jamal's Gambian midfielder
Landing Darboe missed an easy chance from the middle of the box.
Arambagh was unfortunate in the 63rd minute
when defender Mansur Amin took a sudden strike from 25 yards but the ball hit
the sidepost. In the 72nd minute Armabagh winger Jafar Iqbal shot wide from a
close range.
Arambagh restored the parity in the injury time through their forward Md. Abdullah who netted the ball with a shot from the box.
Sheikh Jamal forward Emeka Darlington and
Arambagh forward Issa Yousuf were sent of in the injury time by referee. Emeka was sent off showing
direct red card while Yousuf was sent off for double yellow.
