Jamal thrash Baridhara 5-3
Dhaka, July 28: Sheikh Jamal beat Uttar Baridhara 5-3 in the JB Bangladesh Premier League at the M.A. Aziz Stadium, Chittagong on Thursday.
Sheikh Jamal took the lead in the 19th minute when forward Enamul Haque’s intelligent head on cross of Md. Linkon left Uttar Baridhara goalie Razib stranded in the near post while landing in the far post net (1-0)
However Kenyan forward Tiego Collins restored the parity in the 24th minute when his grounder off a goal mouth melee deflected off a defender and hit the roof of the net(1-1)
But Landing Darboe put Jamal ahead again in the 27th minute with long range effort (2-1).
Landing orchestrated the third goal in the 29th minute when he cut a cross to Rakib Sarker at the middle of the box and the young forward placed the ball past Baridhara goalie Md. Razib (3-1).
In the 51st minute midfielder Shihab added the fourth with a solo effort(4-1)
Baridhara midfielder Sentu Chandra Sen reduced the margin in the 65th minute with an angular shot (4-2)
However Enamul scored his second in the 75th minute to put Jamal on five goal cushion (5-2)
Baridhara however showed their fighting spirit when midfielder Monir Alam scored his teams third goal in the 78th minute (5-3)
Sharif of Sheikh Jamal was sent off by referee for double yellow card in the 86th minute.
