Russell earn first point
Dhaka, August 12: Sheikh Russell earned their first point in the JB Bangladesh Premier League with a 1-1 tie against TeaM BJMC at the Rafikuddin Stadium on Friday.
BJMC playing pressing football earned a series of corners and came close to a strike In the 22nd minute BJMC , Nigerian attacker Samson Ilyasu receiving a long ball from the midfield saw his right footer from the top of the six yard box fisted for a corner by Russell goalie Ziaur Rahman.
However Russell took the in the 25th minute when midfielder MonaeM khan Raju curved a free kick from the left edge of the box and Cameroonian forward Jean Jules IKanaga headed the ball home (1-0)
Midfielder Zakir Hossain Jiku restored the parity in the 49th minute with forward Mehedi Hasan Topu cutting a defence splitting through pass to onrushing Jiku at the left edge of the box who drilled an angular shot into the far post net of Russell goalie Ziaur Rahman (1-1)
In the dying minutes both the team wasted a couple of chances that made the two teams share the points.
After the draw Russell earned first point from 5 matches while Team BJMC earned 4 points from 5 matches.Â
