MSC hold Mukits 2-2
Dhaka, August 13: Muktijoddha was held to a 2-2 draw by Mohammedan Sporting Club Ltd, Dhaka in the lone match of the JB Bangladesh Premier League at the Rafikuddin Stadium, Mymensingh on Saturday.
Mohammedan took the lead in the 29th minute when forward Aminur Rahman Sajib sent a through pass top the Biplu Ahmed at the left edge of the box whose shot was parried by Muktijoddha goalie Mamun Khan but the rebounder fell into the feet of unmarked Mohammedan forward Towhidul Alam Shabuz who tapped the ball home (1-0)
Muktijoddha’s Nigerian forward Ahmed Kolo Musa almost scored the equalizer in the 35th minute when Musa’s curved free kick from 20 yards was punched to safety in the last minute by Mohammedan goalie Saiful Islam.
In the 56th minute Ahmed Kolo Musa provided a through pass to Touhidul Alam who though guarded by defender Pouemi Landry inside the box drove a grounder that found the back of net kissing the post (1-1)
Towhidul Alam headed the second in the 72nd minute as his head on a cross of defender Monjur Manik landed in the far post net (2-1)
However in the 75th minute Manik handled a Abdul Malek cross in the box and in the resulting penalty Towhidul Al;am Shabuz converted the spot kick (2-2)
Muktijoddha has nine points from five matches while Mohammedan has four from the same outings.
