Jamal beat BJMC
Dhaka, 18 August 2016: Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club beat Team BJMC 3-2
in the JB Bangladesh Premier League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Thursday.
Md. Shihab put Jamal ahead in the 11th minute with a curling
effort from 20 yards out after Haitian forward Wedson Anselme set him free with
a back pass, the ball crashed into the top corner of far post. (1-0)
In the 15th minute Team BJMC’s Nigerian midfielder Samson
Illiasu right footer whiskered past the side post.
In the 21st minute Samson Illiasu restored the equalizer of
a penalty after BJMC forward Zakir Hossain Ziku was fouled by jamal defender
Yeasin Khan inside the box. (1-1)
In the 33rd minute Mehedi Hasan Tapu’s left footer from the
box was saved by Jamal goalie Maksudur Rahman diving to the right.
Jamal restored their lead in the 39th minute with Gambian
midfielder Landing Darboe cutting a chip to Wedson Anselme who slammed a right
footer into the middle of the net. (2-1)
Forward Wedson Anselme extended Jamal’s lead to 3-1 in the 68th
minute. Midfielder Landing Darboe sent a through pass to Wedson who placed the
ball into the net from the middle of box. (3-1)
Samson Illiasu reduced the margin for BJMC in the 77th
minute. Taking a ball fed by substitute midfielder Abdullah Pavez from the
midfield, the Nigerian forward chased past his marker and placed the ball into
the net over onrushing goalie Maksudur Rahman. (3-2)
With the win Jamal earned 12 points from 6 matches BJMC remain with 4
points from 6 matches.
