AFC U-16 Women's Qualifiers kicks-off Saturday
Dhaka, August 26: Chinese Taipei faces Kyrgyzstan in the opening match of the AFC U-16 Women’s Championship 2017 Qualifiers group C at the Bangabandhu National Stadium at 11:00 am on Saturday.
In the other two matches of the inaugural day United Arab Emirates takes the field against Singapore at 3:00 pm while hosts Bangladesh lock horns with Iran at 6:00 pm at the same venue.
The top team of the six team group will move into the final round scheduled to be held at Thailand next year.
About the duel with Iran Bangladesh coach Golam Rabbani Choton expressed his confidence of a winning start. “We have been improving in the last 12 months and the time has arrived to show the improvement, we want to win the group championship in our home and every match is important for us” said Choton.
Iranian coach Shadi Mahini however three counter challenge to him. “Iran won a title in Dhaka in their last appearance and we are determined to continue the trend,
Bangladesh will be a tough opponent but we are here to fight and win the title” said Mahini.
The competition concludes on September 5.
