Flying start for BD, beat Iran 3-0
Dhaka, 27 August 2016: Bangladesh made a flying in the AFC Under 16
Women’s Championship Qualifiers group C match beating Iran 3-0 at the
Bangabandhu National Stadium on Saturday.
In the very third minute Bangladesh forward Sirat Jahan Swapna failed
to score when she went past Iranian goalkeeper Maedeh Davaji but placed the
ball into the outside net.
Inspired by the move Bangladesh kept the pressure and earned a free
kick at the edge of the box in the 7th minute, Maria Manda’s free kick
rebounded of the wall and Margia hit the crosspiece much to the dismay of
Bangladesh.
In the 47th minute Bangladesh again came close to strike
when midfielder Maria Manda’s right footer from the middle of the was brilliantly
saved by Iranian keeper Maedeh.
Bangladesh took the lead in the 63rd minute through Marzia.
Midfielder Maria Manda’s right footer from the top of the box was punched by
Iranian goalie Maedeh. Midfielder Marzia placed the ball rebounder into the net
from the top of the six-yard box (1-0)
Midfielder Moushumi Jahan extended the lead in the 66th
minute for Bangladesh. Following a square pass of Sanjida, Moushumi Jahan shot hit the upper far post net
from the right corner of the box. (2-0)
Substitute midfielder Tohura headed a cross of substitute midfielder
Monika over onrushing Iranian goalie Maedeh in the 86th minute to seal the fate of the match. (3-0)
Bangladesh will meet Singapore in their 2nd match on Monday next.
