Iran win big, UAE win first
Dhaka, September 3: Iran thrashed Singapore 11-0 and UAE earned their first victory beating Kyrgyzstan 3-2 in the AFC U-16 Women’s Championship group AC qualifiers at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Saturday.
Fatemeh Makhdoumni scored four goals for Iran netting in the 39. 69. 71 and 84th minutes paving the way for the big victory. Skipper Fatemeh Ghashemi who was shown a red card in the 42 minute netted the first two in the 11 and 13th minute. Rogaiyah Jalal Nasab also struck twice in the 22nd and 39 minute, the other three came off the feet of Mariam Mohammadi, Hani Khodaparesti and Fatemeh Dainia in the 15th, 79th and 85 minutes respectively.
Iran now have nine points from four matches while Singpore are yet to collect any points.
In the second match of the day UAE registered their first victory beating Kyrgyzstan 3-2. Defender Al Reem Al Baloshi curved a free kick into the Kyrgyzstan net in the 13th minute, but Kyrgyz forward Shakhnoza Ibraimova restored the parity in the 37th minute with a solo effort.
UAE midfielder Rawan Al Hammadi put her team ahead in the 40th minute with strong right footer from the top of the box but Kyrgyz midfielder Victoria Dalinger equalized in the 52nd minute.
UAE forward Sara Sameeh’s 57th minute strike made all the difference.
Iran have nine points from four matches while Singapore are yet to open the account.
