Jamal atop beating Muktis
Dhaka, 19 September 2016: Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club inserted the
first defeat upon Muktijoddha Sangshad KC with a 3-2 win in the JB Bangladesh
Premier League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Sunday.
Jamal took
the lead through their Nigerian forward Emeka Darlinton in the 5th minute.
Taking controil of through pass of defender Kesto Kumar from the midfield, the Nigerian forward moved
forward dribbling past two opponent defenders and placed the ball into the
middle of the net between the two legs of Muktis goalie Mamun Khan. (1-0)
Emeka
Darlington doubled the lead for Jamal in the 10th minute of the match from a
penalty. Forward Shihab’s shot was handled by Muktis defender Pintu Kumar Das
inside the box and referee whistled for the spot kick. Emekar converted duly
converted it. (2-0)
Muktis
wasted a chance to reduce the margin in
the 13th minute. Midfielder Mubarak was brought down by Yeasin in the box.
Referee whistled for penalty but Ahmed Kolo Musa missed the spot kick as his
shot was blocked by Jamal goalie Maksudur Rahman who dived to his left.
Haitian
forward Wedson Enselme extended the lead to 3-0 in the 34th minute. He scored
with a curving shot from the edge of the box.
Muktis
reduced the margin from a penalty in the first half injury time. Muktis forward Javed Khan
was tackled down by Jamal goalie Maksudur Rahman in the box. Referee whistled
for penalty and forward Towhidul Alam converted the spot kick. (3-1)
In the 71st
minute Ahmed Kolo Musa squandered another chance for Muktis as he shot straight
to the Jamal goalkeeper Maksud from the box having one on one situation.
Nigerian
midfielder Simon Ezeodika scored the second goal for Muktis in the 77th minute
with a curving shot from 30 yards.
Jamal were
reduced to 10 men in the 78th minute when for ward Shihab was sent off by
referee for his second bookable offence.
With the win
Jamal reached the top of the point table with 15 points from 7 matches while
Muktis remained their previous earning of 12 points from 7 matches.
