First victory for Brothers
Dhaka, 20 September 2016: Brothers Union Limited registered their
first victory beating Sheikh Russel KC Limited 3-1 in the JB Bangladesh Premier
League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Tuesday.
Cameroonian defender Jean J Ikanga failed to convert a penalty in the
12th minute after Sheikh Russel forward Mithun Chowdhury was brought
down by Brothers defender Krishna Pada inside the box.
However it was Brothers who took the lead with a quick counter attack
in the 17th minute. Haitian forward Augustin Walson cut a angular
through pass to Nigerian forward Nkowcha Kingsley who beat Russel goalie Biplob
with a angular shot. (1-0)
Nkowcha Kingsley squandered a chance to stamp the authority in the 26th
minute. Walson put a through pass to Kingsley who failed to beat Russel goalie
Biplob put in the ball straight.
Haitian forward Augustin Walson doubled the lead in the 32nd
minute with a free kick from 25 yards. (2-0)
Russel reduced the margin in the 55th minute with
substitute forward Shakhawat Hossain Rony scoring from a close range. Receiving
a square pass of Paul Emile, Rony kept his cool to slot home from the middle of
the box. (2-1)
Augustin Walson scored his second goal and sealed the victory for
Brothers in the injury time with a solo effort. (3-1)
After the win Brothers earned 8 points from 7 matches while Russel
remained with 1 point from 7 matches.
