Baridhara thrash Russel again
Dhaka, 01 November 2016: Uttar Baridhara Club registered their third victory in the JB Bangladesh Premier League beating Sheikh Russel Krira Chakkra 3-0 in their first match of second phase at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Tuesday.
In the first phase Baridhra also beat Russel 1-0.
Sujan Biswas put Baridhara ahead in the 13th minute when Khalekuzzaman’s low cross from the left was blocked by a defender but Sujan was there to send the rebounder home with a powerful grounder (1-0).
Uttar Baridhara extended their lead in the 62nd minute through their Brazilian forward Leonardo Lima. Capitalizing a mistake of a Russel defender, Lima entered into the box before dodging past two defenders and goalie Ziaur Rahman and placed the ball into the middle of the net. (2-0)
Leonardo Lima scored his second and third for Baridhara in the 85th minute from a penalty. Russel goalkeeper Ziaur Rahman brought down Lima in the box and referee pointed the spot kick. Lima converted the spot kick. (3-0)
After the win Baridhara earned 9 points from 12 matches while Russel remained with 8 points also playing 12 matches.
