Mike Pfister assures Fifa assistance
Dhaka, November 4: Mike Pfister, the Senior Development Manager of Fifa reiterated the world football governing body’s full fledged support to Bangladesh at the BFF House on Friday.
Briefing the press after the conclusion of Fifa delegates four day visit to the country.Mike Pfister said, Great honour to be here almost 20 years.
It's very difficult time now if you look at the performance of Bangladesh football in international scene. That is an alarming wake-up call. We in Fifa believe that in Bangladesh we need a turning point. It's always a time you close a chapter and open up a new chapter”.
“I know the potential there is in this country. We need to create a turning point to boost up football in Bangladesh. Fifa doesn't distribute development funding. These are fundings that are given for development program with a clear objective and we control that money very very carefully. Increase a control mechanism. So that money does invest properly that reaches its destined objective. So same time we are here with AFC. It's strong signal we are ready to move forward with BFF”,
Women's football team need special mention, and is quite successful. We have the ability and we need to take advantage of. Bangladesh women ÂÂ football is like shining light in that region.
BFF president Kazi Salahuddin, Fifa development officer Shaji Pravakan, BFF vice president Tabith Awal, general secretary Abu Naeem Shohag and others were present on the occasion.
