Dhaka, Deccember 5: One Game, One Vision, One Dream. That is what the Football Plan looks to realise.
Building on Phase 1 and Phase 2, the Bangladesh Football Federation is set to launch the third phase of its development plan very soon.
The integrated Football Plan is set to embark on a journey that will take us through 2020 and beyond with ambitious goals.
“On the verge of reaping substantial benefits from our previous efforts, the federation is poised for success,” said Paul Smalley, technical director of the Bangladesh Football Federation.
The third phase, however, stands on the hard work of the last eight years from 2008 to 2016, explained Paul Smalley.
He said that the first phase began during federation president Kazi Salahuddin’s first term in 2008. The federation has successfully introduced an organised flexible domestic and professional league structure under Salahuddin’s guidance.
“Kazi Salahuddin has also stewarded the federation towards a more organised and professional structure.”
In addition, Bangladesh Women’s Football has made significant advances over the past 8 years through phases 1 and 2. Not only that, Bangladeshi clubs have managed to secure international recognition, investments have increased for the senior national team and Bangladesh has received AFC recognition as a member association.
“Now it is time to take the work further and scale up our efforts,” said Paul Smalley looking forward to launching the new phase of the development master plan next week.
