Dhaka, December 10: Sheikh Russell failed to take advantage over a ten men Abahani in a goalless draw in the JB Bangladesh Premier League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Saturday.
Abahani came close to a strike in the very fourth minute of the match when English midfielder Jonathan Davids cut a precise through pass for onrushing Sunday Chizoba, but the Nigerian saw his grounder saved for a corner by a diving Russell.
Russell hit back in the 20th minute with Cameroonian forward Jean Jules Ikanga firing a cracking right footer from the top of the box. However, the shot whiskered over the crosspiece.
Abahani was down to ten men in the 37th minute with English midfielder Lee Tuck sent off to the benches as he hit Jean Jules Iknaga off the ball and from behind. The referee took very little time to flash the Red card to Lee Tuck.
Abahani was unfortunate in the 63rd minute when midfielder Emon Babu struck the crosspiece from the edge of the box.

Abahani however, remained on the top with 43 points from the 19 matches, while Russell has 19 from equal number of matches.
