Dhaka, December 11: Uttar Baridhara earned three precious points beating Muktijoddha 1-0 in the JB Bangladesh Premier League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Sunday.
After a barren first half Mutkijoddha came close to a strike in the 49th minute but their Nigerian forward Simon Ezeodka saw his volley hit the foot of Baridhara goalie Md. Razib.
Baridhara broke the deadlock in the 67th minute riding on an opportunistic strike of Brazilian forward Leonardo Lima. Defender Monir Alam curved a free kick at the top of the box where Senegalese forward Camara Sarra pushed the ball forward to Lima whose left footed volley beat Mamun Khan in the far post (1-0). Â
Muktijoddha was unfortunate in the 90th minute as Simon Ezeodka, the Nigerian forward saw his cracking right footer rock the Baridhara sidepost.
After 19 matches, Baridhara took their tally to 17 points and moved one place up of the basement. Muktijoddha remained on their previous collection of 26, from the same number of matches.
