Dhaka, December 11: Dhaka Mohammedan staged a superb comeback to hold Arambagh to a 2-2 draw in the JB Bangladesh Premier League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Sunday.
Arambagh took the lead twice but a spirited Mohammedan fought back to finish the match as a 2-all draw.
Arambagh broke the deadlock in the 17th minute when forward Sajidur Rahman Sajid hitting bulged the net. Taking control of a Md. Abdullah corner at the top of the six yard box, Sajid placed the ball into the near post (1-0).
Mohammedan forward Towhidul Alam Shabuz restored parity in the 33rd minute. Guinean forward Ismael Bangoura did the hard work in the left flank before cutting a precise cross to Shabuz who headed home from the middle of the box (1-1).
Mohammedan, however, was unfortunate two minutes later when their Cameroonian midfielder Patrice Nzekou hit the crosspiece with a cracking left footer much to the dismay of the black and whites.
Four minutes into the second half, Arambagh followed the same suit. Abdullah’s curved corner hit the Mohammedan crosspiece off a headed clearance by a defender.
Substitute midfielder Zafar Iqbal put Arambagh in the lead for the second time in the 73rd minute. Â Snatching the ball from Mohammedan defender Yusuf Ali Khan at the left flank, the speedy midfielder rocketed past onrushing Nehal and coolly placed the ball into an empty net (2-1).
However, Mohammedan scored the equalizer in the 87th minute when Patrice Nzekou hit the far post net with a left footed  grounder from the top of the box (2-2).
Arambagh has 22 points from 19 matches while Mohammedan took their tally to 18 from the same number of matches.
