Dhaka, December 24: Bangladesh women’s national team is set to leave for Siliguri of India to play in the SAFF Women’s Championship on Monday.
Bangladesh Football Federation declared a 20 member squad for the tourney on Saturday. In the official press release by BFF on Saturday, the team officials promised a good performance through teamwork.
Coach Golam Rabbani Choton was confident, hoping for a good show.
“We are leaving to play the SAFF Championship, preparing for two months. The camp started with 34 members, there are 15 players who have prior experience of playing for the national team. Along with the teamwork and combination of junior and senior players, Bangladesh is a team to be reckoned with,” coach of the team said.
Skipper Sabina Khatun hopes to reach the semis in the international tournament.
“We have to beat Afghanistan and reach the semis first, and then we will look forward. People cannot underestimate the Bangladesh team now. We are ready to give full efforts for a good show,” captain Sabina said.
F.M Iqbal bin Anwar Dawn, the head of game and sports of sponsor grou[ Walton promised a 10 CFT refrigerator for the champions, and if the team finishes runners-up the prize would be 24 inches LED television for all the team members.
Sabina Akter (c ), Sheuli Azim, Shamsunnahar, Nargis Khatun, Masura Parvin, Sanjida Akter, Mainu Marma, Ishrat Jahan Mousumi, Sabina Khatun, Sirat Jahan Sapna, Marzia, Krishna Rani, Nilufa Yasmin Neela, Maria Manda, Anai Mogini, Israt Jahan Ratna, Anichuning Mogini, Rowshan Ara, Munmun Akter, Mahmuda Akter comprise of the 20 member squad.
